It is commonly said that those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it. This holds true in secular experience as well as sacred history.

Ellen White, writing about the importance of our history stated: “The record of the experience through which the people of God passed in the early history of our work must be republished” (Letter 105, 1903) “These articles should now be reprinted, that there may be a living voice from the Lord’s witnesses.” (Letter 99, 1905)
