The Third Angel’s Message Series
The following 3 volumes are sermons A.T. Jones preached at the 1893, 1895, and 1897 General Conference sessions. During all three sessions, A. T. Jones presented on the then current religious liberty challenges in the United States regarding religious legislation. This was followed by presentations on other important topics. In 1893, Jones presented on the Laodicean Message, the Loud cry and the Latter Rain. In 1895 Jones presented on the humanity and divinity of Christ. In 1897 Jones presented on the gift of the Spirit of Prophecy and its place in the Remnant church.
In 1908 Ellen White described his 1893 and 1897 sermons in this way: “I have been instructed to use those discourses of yours printed in the General Conference bulletins of 1893, 1897.... I was shown that many would be helped by the articles ... which were of the Holy Spirits framing” (9MR 278). Just after the 1895 General Conference ended in April of that year, Ellen White wrote the following on May 1 to O. A. Olsen: “The Lord in His great mercy sent a most precious message to His people through Eld. Waggoner and Jones. This message was to bring more prominently before the world the uplifted Saviour, the sacrifice for the sins of the whole world. It presented justification through faith in the Surety; it invited the people to receive the righteousness of Christ, which is made manifest in obedience to all the commandments of God. Many had lost sight of Jesus. They needed to have their eyes directed to His divine person, His merits, and His changeless love for the human family. All power is given into His hands, that He may dispense rich gifts unto men, imparting the priceless gift of His own righteousness to the helpless human agent. This is the message that God commanded to be given to the world. It is the third angel's message, which is to be proclaimed with a loud voice, and attended with the outpouring of His Spirit in a large measure.” (TM 91-92). In these sermons, you will see for yourself Christ and His righteousness exalted.
